Jan Šovar, partner Finreg Partners

Jan Šovar is an attorney-at-law and the co-founder of FINREG PARTNERS law firm. He focuses on the regulation of the financial sector, securities, FinTech, blockchain and STO, payment and banking services, investment services, investment funds and asset management.


Before FINREG PARTNERS he worked for one of the biggest Czech law firms Kocián Šolc Balaštík (KSB) and also for the predecessor of ESMA in Paris and for Deutsche Bank in London.

For many years he also led the Czech capital markets legislation at the Ministry of Finance where he supervised the preparation of key legislative proposals in the area of capital markets (particularly the Czech Management Companies and Investment Funds Act and the legislation on bonds issuance).

Jan is a well-known author of many important legal publications, including the only up-to-date commentary on Czech Management Companies and Investment Funds Act, commentary on the Capital Market Undertakings Act or the best-selling commentary on the Civil Code. Apart from other lectures and presentations in the Czech Republic and abroad, he also runs seminars and other lectures at Czech law schools with respect to blockchain, cryptocurrencies, FinTech and other related matters.
