Unlike an investment firm licence, a financial intermediary (FI) licence only authorises the provision of investment services involving the acceptance and transmission of orders and investment advice relating to certain financial instruments. These instruments include bonds for which a prospectus has been issued or units in collective investment undertakings. Art. 3 MiFID 2 firms are not permitted to accept money or investment instruments from clients.
This licence is therefore suitable for entities that wish to provide only a limited range of investment services in relation to standardised types of financial instruments without simultaneously accepting clients’ assets.
Obtaining FI licences is one of the areas in which our law firm has been intensively involved since its establishment. Thanks to our approach, we have managed to significantly shorten the length of the licensing procedure itself and obtain licences for our clients in record time, which is also appreciated by our competitors.
If you are interested in obtaining an FI licence, arrange an initial meeting with us, where we will discuss all the steps that need to be taken together to achieve this.
